Fallen Harpy and the Cat Eating Monster Sketches

A couple more sketches. The first is an old one from the summer that marked the end of a sketchbook I had since xmas last year. The second is the final rough of a halloween themed cheesecake piece I never finished a month ago.

Mornings are Hard

Finally done with this. It started as just a lighting experiment that was only going to use simple flats overlayed with soft washes of color, but it turned into a full blown painting in parts.

I need to stretch my muscles doing full blown scenes more often like this.

I'm doing the monochrome rendering that will lead into layering colors on top of it.

Sunny Final Rough

An initial rough of the character, Sunny, that I drew up earlier during inktober but forgot to post, but I've been busy slogging away at more concept of him since then and other than his stupid head frills, his look is more or less squared away here. Why head contours and details become so problematic for me, I'll never know.
