Imp Dumps

Some recent sketches. Lately my imps have been kinda evolving again to another look past what Aloe in the first four pages here look like, which could require a change in her design too.

Belated Scenery Line Art Almost Done

Submitted this in bits and pieces of in the past but kept forgetting it as I started newer stuff. I plan to add some texture and basic colors/ lighting, but unsure how deep I'm going to render it since the lines took a good deal of work already.

Potion Problems and other Sketches

More imp related sketch dumping. Playing with colors a bit, but mostly just scribbles including a new character finally after doing almost nothing but the same one for months on end.

Leaf Imp Girl Concept Paintings

Hey, its been roughly a month since my last post, but I have been working trust me. May into July is full of family and holiday convergences that end up being much busier than even Christmas for me on top of the heat wave that we have been getting.

Here are the finished concept paintings for this little imp character that I have drawn for..oh over a year now for a personal project. Nursing an idea is great for mental excercise, but now its time to focus on the applying this idea to a finished product down the line. Otherwise it wouldn't be worth it in the end you know?

Leaf Imp redesign Spring 2012 through Summer 2013

Quick redesign of an imp race I'm planning to use for an online graphic novel, it sure has changed alot since her conception last spring on the forested island of Lokrum, Croatia.

Both interchange anatomy and details from multiple redesigns below.

Its amazing how much this one character has changed in just over a year. Just as I had learned years ago, strong world building overall helps characters develop especially well, but not the other way around. Her design as a result was slow and steady as I tried hammering out the basic idea of what story I want to illustrate.
